Climbing Jebel Burdah
This time we don't stop at the bridge but keep going until we reach the summit.
Going up and down this mountain will take you 5 hours to the top. You will cross the bridge on the way, but you will come down by a different route.
For a reasonably fit person, this climb is no more than a scramble with a couple of more difficult bits (grade 3 on the French scale) just before and just after the bridge, but it is very easy to miss the right way. Provided you have a properly qualified mountain guide with you with a rope, this is a marvellous and exciting outing and the views from the top are among the best in the whole Wadi Rum area.
Price 75JD/person for 2-3 people and 65JD/person for 4-6 people. This price includes the guide and the jeep ride to get there. If you want food and an overnight in the desert in addition to the climb, you should add on 20JD/person, making the price 95JD/person or 85JD/person.
We can also sleep there overnight! This is a wonderful experience, especially when there is a full moon. All of the mountains of Wadi Rum are spread out underneath in the moonlight. You would need to bring sleeping bags if you want to do this. The guide will carry the safety ropes and the food will be shared between everybody.
Please note that the overnight option is not offered during the winter or during the month of Ramadan whenever this falls.
